I did the montage of the award-winning breakfast show tagged “Owurolawa” in Lagos Television free of charge in 2004 and see what Sweet Melody had resorted to today. This year the music clocks 17 years on the air.
The programme is broadcast Monday through Friday in the morning. I am not sure any musician had this uninterrupted airplay offer in this nation so far.
It may be ordinary to some people but I know how many millionaires had connected with me through the programme.
Move closer to filmmakers and offer them your soundtracks free of charge. Before you know it, you are on the top already.
You need to learn from movie soundtracks to choose your style.
A musician sang in a film title “Igi Aruwe” and before you know it, the film was accepted in the general world and the song brought the guy to the limelight.
People who bought the film would start falling in Love with your music in the movie.
Try to be creative and choose to be professional in your composition.
You can get some filmmakers from social media and most importantly their movies.
So many people had flown with this Idea. Remember, Celine Don in Titanic who sang “My heart will go on” That music hit the world record. She won her jackpot and was respected forever.
18. ADVERT JINGLE:
Produce advertisement jingle for companies. Check what their products and services are and do a playlet as a sample. Target small and large scale companies and produce a dynamic advert for them.
Don’t wait till they request the advert before you take it to them.
God hate idleness. The more companies you approach, the more great opportunity you will have.
19. NATIONAL PROJECT:
Compose songs for independent day and take them to the Ministry of Information and Strategies with a letter. (You may call for detail of this idea)
The more beautiful your songs are, the more great opportunity and open doors you may have.
Compose songs on Tax and take them to Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). Your creativity is your acceptability.
20. EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS:
There are rhymes, I mean a piece of poetry which could be meaningful or useful for school pupil which can earn you cool cash if you work on them well. Do it and submit it to the Ministry of Education with a cover letter.
21. STUDIO SESSION MEN
Do you know you can drop your contact details in various recording studios across the state as a backup singer? Musicians and artists who may be looking for a good vocalist could hire you and once you are good, your money had come. 22. POLITICAL JINGLE
Do a piece of music for a political party or it’s aspirant during an election. You will get paid if you are connected with a party member or not. All you need is a good one-minute jingle that is well composed and produced on behalf of a targeted party or personnel.
